Shades Dance Theater’s photography has become a hallmark of the company’s brand and identity since its founding. Known for its striking, cinematic images, this visual language is rooted in a long-standing collaboration with Norman, Oklahoma–based photographer Shevaun Williams, the company’s resident photographer. In 2023, their creative partnership reached a defining moment when Shades and Williams won the 2023 Communication Arts Award for Love, Fantasy, and Euphoria, selected as one of 122 winners out of more than 2,000 entries.
